Fred Hagans is the founder of Hagans Montgomery Hagans and is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law. He is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School (1972) and he obtained his B.A. at the University of Texas in 1969. He has served as Past Presi- dent and Director for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Gulf Coast Chapter. He is a member of Million Dollar Advocates Forum, American Board of Trial Advocates, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Houston Trial Lawyers Association. Fred is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation. He served as Treasurer of Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists (2004-2005). As Co- Chairman of the Texas Supreme Court Committee on Professionalism (1989- 1991), Fred was instrumental in drafting the Texas Lawyers Creed adopted by the State Bar. He also served on the Judiciary Relations Committee, State Bar of Texas (2004-2007), American Bar Association Committee on Ethics & Profes- sionalism (2003), and The Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism (2000-2002). Fred speaks frequently on the subject of professionalism and ethics as well as other topics in civil litigation. The Bar Foundation has commissioned an oral history to recognize and preserve the accomplishments of Mr. Hagans’ legal career.
